GWS MEETINGS are held on the 3rd Tuesday of February, April, June, October, and December at the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Macon, 7:30pm.
The GWS T-Shirts are in!  They are similar to the last run of shirts....100% cotton, natural color, with GWS logo on the back and smaller on the front.  The cost is $10 for small, medium, large, and extra large.  $11 for double-extra large.  Click here to inquire about size availability.

Nov 13-17 Oconee River below Dublin. This 77 mile paddle will cover the entire Oconee River below Dublin. We will take out at Hwy 221 approximately 1 mile downstream of the convergence where the Oconee and Ocmulgee form the Altamaha. Participants not wishing to tackle the entire distance can leave the trip at various take-outs located 17, 35, and 49 miles downstream of the put-in. Maps and GPS waypoints provided. Dec 15   Christmas Dinner and Party at Macon's Museum of Arts and Sciences at 7:00pm
 
Jan 30  Tree Planting Party.   When the tornado hit Macon and surrounding areas a year and a half ago, GWS member Shirley Williams lost many dozen trees on her property near Dry Branch.  GWS members and others helped to clean the bulk of the trees that were down from around her house back then, and now she is replanting trees.  She will be serving soup, salad, and a drink for all who can come help...beginning at 9:00am.   Anyone who wants to bring a dish to share is welcome to do so, but not required.  Please let her know that you are coming, for food planning purposes.  478-755-9217 / 478-731-3468.
 
Mar 24-28   Cumberland Island Camping   Spend a few days camping at Sea Camp, strolling the island trails, exploring the ruins, watching the horses, and walking the beaches.  Photos from previous trip.
Ferry will leave St. Mary's on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 11:45 and return Sunday, March 28th, 2010 at 10:15  Contact  Bonnie Gehling  for details.  At this time, the trip is full (we only have reservations for 16 people).   If you want to get on the waiting list (yes, people do have to cancel sometimes), just email Bonnie.
