Georgia Wilderness Society
Baldwin Forest - near Milledgeville, GA

On a windy morning in February, 2007, the GWS crew took off for a new place that was introduced to us by trip leaders Bonnie and Kathy....The Bartram Forest in Baldwin County, south of Milledgeville.  The site has lots of old roads, hiking trails, and several small ponds that offer good wildlife viewing.  There is also a labyrinth to walk and a picnic shelter.

Below, we stop by the Cornbread Cafe for a hearty breakfast before striking out on the trail.
Trip Participants Include:

Kathy Stege
Bonnie Gehling
Margaret Clay
Terry Ross
Tim Gunter
Ron Turner
Styron Bell
Chris Bryson
Tom Payne
Some of the group hiked the trails and some bicycled the roads.  We all met back at the big pond for lunch though.
Despite a crashed bicycle, Bonnie still manages to make a perfect dismount.  Unfortunately, the dismount did land her in the creek.  Given the cool February temperatures and the wind, this was "refreshing" to say the least....and resulted in going back to the car for a change of clothes.
